Title
The computer as a generative tool
Abstract
The computer is becoming an indispensable tool. It is capable of fast processing large quantities of digitalised data so urbanists predominantly use it in analytical work with spatial data. Many useful user-friendly GIS tools have been developed, which enable gathering, reviewing and manipulating various spatial information. The article deals with the CAUP programme that uses basic spatial information for automatic generating of spatial limitations and potentials. The programme enables generating of spatial solutions important for determining mutual effects of various spatial data, thus simultaneously allowing different interpretations.
