Title
Decision for renewal as a decision for investment
Abstract
A building becomes economically obsolete when it reaches the critical point of maintenance expenditure - when the maintenance costs are greater than expected gains or possible income from the building. Its economic life can be lengthened by investments for its repair or modernization as well as complex interventions on wider areas. In the latter case, government supervision is necessary.
