Title
The economic principles of regional urbanizatin:from the outstart of regional planning to the present days
Abstract
The article presents a chronological account of the development of regional planning in Yugoslavia, from its beginning, when planning was directed towards economic development, through a period when regional planning was an instrument for diminishing developmental differences between particular republics or regions (the late fifties) and a period where regional eviromental protection was the main issue (The constitution of 1974) up to the draft for the new constitution where planning is nonexistent. Professional status as well as existing economic processes and their environmental and social consequences during the particular periods are discussed.
